Dear Friends and Neighbors:
I am writing to urge you to sign up as a supporter of the Coalition to Prevent Westchester Airport Expansion, so that it can represent you at the county, state, and federal level. It only takes a minute and it doesn't cost you a thing.
It's time to take back control of county airport policy-making. Communities and the organizations who stand with us deserve a seat at the table. The Coalition has been making positive strides with the County and can do more with our help. Taking on issues such as drinking water pollution, noise pollution, air pollution -- as well as security and tax rates -- requires unified representation.
Please step up and provide the necessary support. This is the first opportunity we've had to form a strong, lasting watchdog and advocacy group, but it will only work if all of us take a minute to come together. We don't have to turn our lives upside down to beat back airport expansion. The Coalition can ensure that we won't have to reinvent the wheel each time commercial interests put pressure on our elected officials, potentially turning our local airport into a "LaGuardia North" that's a mere tenth of a mile from our County's largest source of drinking water, the Kensico Reservoir.
